RFK Jr and the Democratic Party; Tech Workers Rally with Writers; Ukraine War Propaganda

The 2024 presidential campaigns have already begun in the US and while the Republican candidates are getting free media publicity on CNN & MSNBC there has been little press coverage of any Democratic Party candidates besides incumbent Joe Biden. Independent journalist Sam Husseini spoke to Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s candidacy.   Sam Husseini has been writing about the Democratic Party primary on Substack.

May 6 was a national day of action to support the 11,000 striking writers of the Writers Guild of America West. At Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, workers rallied and spoke out about their issues and were joined by tech workers, teamsters, and construction workers.

Twenty-year-old Swedish environmentalist Greta Thunberg weighed in on the Ukraine War this week, tweeting, “This ecocide as a continuation of Russia’s unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine is yet another atrocity which leaves the world lost for words. Our eyes are once again on Russia who must be held accountable for their crimes.” Left journalists critical of the West’s role in the Ukraine war quickly chimed in to say that Greta Thunberg’s tweet proved she has always been a psy op for powerful Western interests.
