A major attack on Medicare is taking place in the US through Medicare Advantage. Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer spoke with New York City retiree and American Federation Of Teachers Professional Staff Congress member Carol Lang. Lang also belongs to the 1.3 million member American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Workers, also known as AFSCME.

On Saturday, March 23, there will be a community meeting in East Palesine Ohio to launch a national campaign: “Justice for East Palestine Residents and Workers.”  The campaign’s main demand is that the federal government provide full healthcare to all residents of East Palestine, Ohio and surrounding areas and to any fire or emergency workers sickened by direct exposure to the toxic burn. Pacifica’s Thomas O’Rourke reports.
