Since October of last year, Israel has killed over 150 Palestinian journalists in Gaza. On January 8, journalist Abubaker Abed spoke out with other journalists about what they are facing in the Gaza strip, and made a call for action to stop the murders.

They talked about the over-representation of pro-zionist lobbyists and veteran Israeli government personnel being political commentators in the mainstream media. They also discussed the work of political prisoner and journalist Mumia Abu Jamal and the recent plight of journalist Julian Assange, who was a recently freed political prisoner.

Hundreds of doctors, nurses, and medical workers in Gaza have faced unimaginable violence—beatings, torture, and murder at the hands of Israeli Occupation Forces. Hospitals serving the Palestinian people have been reduced to rubble.
On January 6th, the group Doctors Against Genocide called for an international day of action. Their demands? The immediate release of Dr. Abu Safiya, Medical Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, and the many other healthcare workers illegally detained by the Israeli Occupation Forces.
Protests were held across the globe, including at San Francisco General Hospital and the University of California San Francisco. Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer was on the ground and spoke with healthcare workers at the rally.

During a panel organized by Doctors Against Genocide, renowned historian Norman Finkelstein delved into the history of genocide and discussed how Israel has been enabled to carry out its current actions in Gaza.
