Over 6,000 journalists worldwide have received funds from the US Agency for International Development, USAID, according to a recent report. Block Report’s JR Valrey talked to Nigerian journalist David Hundeyin about USAID’s control over journalism in Nigeria, as well as its involvement in funding terror groups like Boko Haram, Isis and Alqaeda, as was exposed by Congressman Scott Perry. David Hundeyin is the founder of the West Africa Weekly, a substack newsletter, as well as an accomplished author. Find more from JR at blockreportradioworld.com.

Next, Democratic Congressman Al Green of Houston, Texas spoke to journalist Roland Martin about why he spoke out against the drastic $800 billion dollar cuts to Medicaid during the president’s speech to a joint session of Congress on March 4th, 2025. He says Trump does not have a “mandate”  and that “health care shouldn’t be wealth care” in the U.S.

Medicaid is a joint federal-state program that covers primary and acute care services, to one in five Americans. That’s more than 70 million people — including 40% of all children and 60% of all nursing home residentss, as well as long-term care services for low-income populations. It is a major source of funding for hospitals, community health centers, and physicians. In the State of Texas, total Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program CHIP enrollment was 4.2 million people in June 2024.
