Since 1970,  the United American Indians of New England have held a National Day of Mourning on Cole’s Hill in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

This coincides with Unthanksgiving Day, which was founded on November 20, 1969, when Native Americans occupied the Island of Alcatraz in San Francisco. The occupation lasted for 19 months.

Keisha James talks about the National Day of Mourning.
