Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of right-wing former president Jair Bolsonaro and an ally of Donald Trump, made a strong showing in the first round of Brazil’s presidential election, surprising many observers around the world. What explains his support, and what could it mean for Brazil’s working class and the political struggle against far right reaction? Fabio Bosco, a former transit worker in São Paulo and a supporter of the Conlutas labor federation, discusses these questions with Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer.

Flock’s AI-powered surveillance camera networks are spreading across US cities, counties, and states, raising concerns about privacy, mass surveillance, and the lack of public oversight. The cameras can capture vehicle information and help track people’s movements across communities.
Last week, Flock CEO Garrett Langley spoke at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, where he was confronted by members of DeFlock, a grassroots movement opposing the expansion of Flock’s surveillance networks. Protesters raised concerns about how the technology is being used across the country and demanded that the cameras be removed.

Next, in contradiction to recent and growing media fear-mongering surrounding elevated US measles case counts insinuating or directly blaming this new crisis on “vaccine hesitancy” due to “misinformation” and “conspiracy theories” — we’ll hear from a doctor and scientist. Dr. Peter McCullough, esteemed cardiologist, nephrologist, and epidemiologist presents a precise, evidenced-based argument asserting that most of the increases in domestic US measles case counts are due to elevated false positives that are a statistically and arithmetically predictable outcome based on the multi-fold increase in testing for measles by profit-driven medical testing facilities. He also says that the Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) vaccine as it is currently prescribed in the childhood vaccine schedule is much more dangerous than any of the three diseases it’s intended to inoculate against. More on this in a future program.
