Despite the federal government’s promises to help residents of East Palestine after the Norfolk Southern train derailment, many still lack health care and have no way to leave their contaminated homes.
University of California San Diego Medical School professor Beatrice Golomb has been leading a project on the chemical contamination of East Palestine and other catastrophic chemical disasters including 09/11 and the Gulf War. She spoke with Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer.

In the wake of the 2024 presidential election, Sen. Bernie Sanders slammed Democrats in a letter posted on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter.
