The assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk raised the question of who he was and what his ideology was. Russ Bellant, a writer and researcher on fascism and the right wing, looks at Kirk’s history and ideology and corporate media and politicians’ attempts to normalize these ideologies. Bellant is author of The Challenge From The Religious Right, Mania In The Media: The Original Promise and The Goals Of the Promise Keepers and Old Nazis, The New Right & Republican Party. He spoke to Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer.

San Francisco’s billionaire mayor Daniel Lurie, an heir to the Levi Strauss fortune, is trying to push a new “Family Zoning” Plan that would bulldoze rent controlled apartments. Prior to a city hearing on the plan, tenants and their supporters protested in front of San Francisco City Hall. Fred Sherburn-Zimmer of the Housing Rights Committee spoke out about why tenants are furious about his plans.

The US spent more than a million dollars in Nepal recently, specifically training journalists to accuse the government of corruption; and training Gen-Z youth in political activism. Independent journalist Nuri Vitachi reports.
