After two years of civil war, Sudan is now the site of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. However, as in most conflicts in the Global South, colonial and neocolonial history are a large part of the story. Weapons go in from more powerful nations while resources come out. Sudanese scholar and journalist Ahmed Kaballo, Editor of Sovereign Media, broke it down for Pacifica and Black Agenda Report. This is the first 50 minutes of an hour and a half long interview, the rest of which can be found on Black Agenda Report’s YouTube Channel: “Struggling for Sovereignty: Sudan after Two Years of Civil War.”
