Minneapolis Workers Resist ICE; Trump Targets Venezuela, Latin American Labor Responds; Vaccine Policy Shifts Expose Decades of Science Ignored

As ICE increases its presence in Minneapolis, Communication Workers of America President Kieran Knutson and members of his local are defending immigrant communities. In conversation with Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer, he reports on the recent ICE killing of legal observer Renee Good.

The Trump administration’s attack on Venezuela is being seen as an attack on the working class of all Latin America. Maria Pelle is a professor at the University of Buenos Aries, a member of the faculty union and a supporter of the Workers Party, which has representatives in the Argentine Parliament. She spoke to Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer about the view from Argentina and what they want to do to stop the attack.

Next we’ll hear a discussion of new and extensive changes to the government-recommended childhood vaccine schedule announced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on January 5, 2026. The new policy, effective immediately, is in line with 20 other countries’ schedules, most closely with that of Denmark.
