Dr. Fauci Takes the Fifth; San Francisco Healthcare Workers Challenge Union Negotiations; Black Panthers Recall the 1968 San Francisco State Strike

CRD Producer Thomas O’Rourke has put together a series of clips centered on the COVID pandemic’s dark underside as we were reminded recently after watching Dr. Anthony Fauci’s subpoenaed testimony in front of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee on Wednesday July 29, 2026.  After Fauci’s appearance in which he made an opening statement protesting his critics’ “witchhunt” against him followed by his invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination some 120 times, the Senate Committee, Chaired by Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican with Ranking Minority Gary Peters, Michigan Democrat voted Thursday, August 6 along straight party lines to approve a charge of contempt of Congress and to ask directly the Department of Justice to issue an indictment.  What follows are some clips reacting to this news or to policies and pronouncements coming out during the recently “terminated” pandemic.

We hear from British Political Comedian Russell Brand on Pfizer’s Influence across and throughout the media coverage of Covid.

Second, Dr. Peter McCullough from his Substack page Focal Points on doctors testifying to Congress and details of Fauci’s appearance.

Third, British Nursing Professor, Author, and Podcaster John Campbell posting one line of questions posed to Fauci by Rick Scott, Florida Republican.  In this segment, we have included all of Scott’s questions but cut most, not all of Fauci’s 5th Amendment responses – each one sounds exactly the same as you’ll hear.

Finally, we hear a recent segment of the Jimmy Dore Show that includes interviews of Aaron Rogers, ProFootball Quarterback, SuperBowl Champion and MVP and 4x NFL MVP who refused all demands that he take a COVID “vaccine”.  He speaks to a local Pittsburgh TV sports reporter and then with podcaster Joe Rogan.  Jimmy Dore, a long-time critic of COVID pandemic government policies as well as media lies and obfuscations, discusses with fellow comedian and sidekick Kurt Metzker.  Enjoy!

.In San Francisco, California, healthcare workers are sounding the alarm about lack of equity for the most vulnerable members in their community. SEIU 1021 San Francisco community and mental healthcare workers say they were used as a bargaining chip in recent union bargaining with the city and county of San Francisco. Healthcare worker leaders Augusto Guerra and Cheryl Thornton spoke to Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer about their negotiations and the attack on patients.

The 1960s were a decade characterized by demands for race and gender equality, environmental responsibility, and opposition to US wars in Southeast Asia, and even opposition to imperialism.  Students were, at the time, reading  Lenin’s “Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism.”

Nineteen-sixty-eight was one of the most tumultuous years, characterized by the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, the still unresolved assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy, and widespread civil unrest. Students at both San Francisco State University and the University of California’s  Berkeley campus went on strike for open admission and ethnic studies.

The connection between the Black Panther Party and the San Francisco State University strike was critical to the strike. Two former Black Panther party members, Clarence Thomas & Judy Juanita, talk about that connection in an interview with Pacifica’s Steve Zeltzer.
