The leaders of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger convened in the Nigerien capital Niamey for the inaugural summit of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). The three countries have taken action to defend their natural resources and have started to expel not only the French diplomats and military, but also their corporations. This was Burkinabe President Captain Ibrahim Traore’s speech at the inaugural summit of the Alliance of Sahel States heads of state held in Niamey, Niger on July 6th 2024.
